I'm melting!)

RSS!

I have RSS now! Go me! I've finally joined the blog-crazy world and made my page all brimming with live RSS feeds...(and maybe about 2 years too late because everyone is so tired of blogs... but! in my defense, I was blogging 7 years ago -- way ahead of my time, really.) Anyway - what's RSS you might ask? Well, it's this nifty little feature which makes it possible to read all the updates I make on this site in a very user-friendly reader AND you can subscribe to it. So you'll know when I update even before I do! No not really...but wouldn't that be interesting?

Updates

Long time no see... (or more like: long time no me-writing-some-stuff-for-you-to-read). I've been busy, I guess. Busy and lazy, lazy and busy and before I knew it was February 2007 and I'm 27 years old! Jeez! The things you do? Things you don't do? What you believe? What you experience? What you feel? Are they all connected? Does one affect the other? -- Apparently I've been on this existential kick lately, partly because I have so much time alone with my thoughts (which can be downright scary if you let it go on for too long), but also because I've just realized that I'm actually 27 years old. At 27 you're supposed to be married with 2 kids, but I'm still stuck on trying to figure out who I am.

When my aunt came for a visit

A few images from when my aunt Erna Valdís came for a visit in January 2007 ... wow, has it been that long? I never understood it, especially when you consider the fact that it took them on average 8-10 hours to travel one way. Why spend 20 hours traveling every weekend just so you can spend a day and a half in some small village/town with your relatives, when you are living and working in the big city far from the parents with no one telling you what to do?

Back to India

After being almost forced out of India against my own will, (stupid financial crisis and all that), I didn't think I'd be going back so soon. It was a beautiful aquatic fantasy world...sort of. When I woke up this morning three of my four big and shiny goldfishies were gone. One had died :( and was floating on the water's surface, but two were missing. It started in Iceland with a 6 hour delay at the airport because of extreme winds, which were so strong that grounded airplanes moved many metres each time! ... then we went to Washington DC for one night, flew to Orlando and stayed there for a few days, then we went to Daytona Beach for a day, then Ft. Lauderdale for a night and then finally to the Bahamas for 4 days. It was sweeeet!

Coco and Taco!

A few weeks ago I was in the market buying new fishies and fish food when I stumpled onto teeny tiny little turtles - each about the length of my pinky finger (and I have small fingers!) - and they were so cute that I just had to take a pair home with me. Impulse buy might not be the best way to "accrue" pets, especially from sellers that are as ignorant about taking care of turtles as I am - they convinced me that their first home (see gallery) was more than enough ... boy was I wrong! But after googling for days and searching Chennai for the best shop in town, I was able to give them a good home :)

Kill them all!

My stuff arrived by ship last Friday, my stuff as in my used personal belongs, but I'm far, far away from getting my hands on it. Why? Because the customs office wants me to pay...wait for it...750.000 Icelandic kronas! (For all the currency challenged people out there, that's $11,000 or 6000 pounds!).

So how does the image gallery work?

The gallery is split up into two sections (as of now), the Image cloud, and the Image galleries. The galleries are a collection of images which you can browse through at your own convenience, especially if you have no specific image or an event in mind. The image cloud, however, is a search/filtering application, which helps you find exactly the image you want by filtering all the images by "tags".

Follow your gut... (and no, I don't mean to KFC)

I'd been thinking for some time now to get me one of those big/strong rubber elastic bands that have hooks on both ends. Why? Well, when you resort to balancing boxes between your feet while driving home from the mall on your scooter because there's no better way, and then when you reach home you're amazed you're still alive... that might be big neon sign telling you need to be more careful. So, rubber bands to the rescue. With those babies you can strap bunch of boxes in really tight at the end of the scooter, and not worry about when the next car is going to chop off your legs.

Bleugh...

I woke up around 7:30 this morning (and that's actually the middle of the night for me, what with my 10 o'clock wake up call and all...) and I realized I was sharing my bed with a mosquito grrr... and that LBF (little black fu%$#er) was just leisurely jumping between parts of my body feeding away...bastard.

New things

This year has brought on a whole new experiences; new loves, new likes, new dislikes, new places, new hobbies, and a new country ... which pretty much propelled me into making a new site as well.
